WG6 - The Impact of Social Networks on Students Learning Experience
This working group is for postgraduate students only.
This is the first time that a working group has been done by students at ITiCSE 2007. It is a great opportunity to research the impact of social networks on the student learing experience. The research will involve the definition of the state-of-art software and cutting-edge technologies within the social networking field, and how is it contributing to the development of social learning.
Some of the issues that are going to be researched are:
- How do students meet their peer?
- Does the university learning system (through tutor groups, subjects, classes) influence the process of meeting peers?
- Does diversity (gender, culture and so on) influence the process of meeting peers?
- What kind of work is affected by working with peers?
-
What kind of interaction you can have with peers from an online point of view and a face-to-face one?
