WG2 - Developing a Computer Science-Specific Learning Taxonomy

The aim of this working group is to investigate the role of learning taxonomies in computer science education, both by studying existing taxonomies (such as that of Bloom et al.) and by devising a new taxonomy which takes into account aspects of learning that are specific to computer science. Before the conference participants will carry out some practical work consisting of making an evaluation of assessments used at their university, and talking to the people who teach courses on introductory computer science. This, together with background reading on taxonomies, will form the background and evidence-base for the work done in the group, which will produce a subject-specific analysis of learning taxonomies and propose a new taxonomy taking these into account.
