Edinburgh Castle and Royal Yacht Britannia

Fri 29th June, depart 9am West Park Conference Centre, return 5pm.

Edinburgh Castle's ancient walls afford views of the city and the countryside from every aspect. Perched on a long extinct volcanic outcrop above the capital city, the castle has a wealth of must-see treasures including Mons Meg - the great cannon, which fires a salute over the city every day at one o'clock - the Great Hall, St Margaret's Chapel, the National War Museum of Scotland, the Scots Dragoon Guards Museum, the Crown Room and the Crown Jewels and Scottish National War Memorial.

The Royal Yacht Britannia played host to some of the world's most famous people but above all she was home to the Royal Family. Now you can experience for yourself the heart and soul of this floating palace. Britannia's five main decks are open for you to explore, highlighting, the State Drawing Room, the State Dining Room, the Queen's Bedroom, the Sun Lounge and the Admirals Suite. Sir Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela, Rajiv Gandhi are just some of the famous to have been aboard, and you now have the chance to stand where they stood.

Scotland in a Day

Thurs 28th June, depart 8am West Park Conference Centre, return 7pm

Cost of £16 (UK pounds) per person includes coach trip only. Morning Coffee, Lunch and Afternoon Tea are not included in the price, but can be purchased at the various stops. BOOK here.

Treat yourself to Scotland in a Day - a journey that will give you a taste of all that Scotland has to offer. The trip begins early morning usually 8.00am and takes you north up the A9 and a visit to House of Bruar for morning tea/coffee and a browse round Scotland's most prestigious country store. For the more energetic you can take a stroll to the famous Falls of Bruar. From here you will be taken to scenic Loch Laggan, where much of the BBC Monarch of the Glen was filmed then on past Ben Nevis (Britain's highest mountain) to the West Coast port of Fort William for lunch. After lunch the journey continues through the rugged but beautiful countryside of Glen Coe, famous for its stunning scenery and 43 Munro Mountains (over 3000ft) a paradise for hill walkers. Having travelled through some stunning Perthshire scenery you will have afternoon tea in Crieff, before your journey takes you back to Dundee at about 7.00pm.

Famous Grouse Experience

Tues 26th June, depart 2pm, return 6pm

The Famous Grouse Experience, located at the Glenturret Distillery, allows you to discover the secrets behind Scotland's best-loved whisky, "The Famous Grouse." The surroundings offer the perfect location to escape the stresses and strains of the world. Discover and view the traditional methods of malt whisky production of the single Glenturret malt by expert guides and Dramolliers, who give live demonstrations in the marrying warehouse of how to blend the perfect whisky. You will be guided though the nosing and tasting bar - where you can try your hand (or nose) at identifying all kinds of smell and flavours in the water of life.

St Andrews

Tues 26th June, depart 2pm, return 6pm

Cost of $50 (US dollars) includes coach trip, photo opportunity at 1st tee, tour of British Golf Museum, free time to explore St Andrews. BOOK with your conference registration.


Why not take a trip of discovery and visit St Andrews, the home of golf, where you will find the British Golf Museum and learn about the history of the game. You will find out about the origins of the game or Alice in Wonderland's connection with Golf and there is something of interest for everyone in the museums unique range of displays. Follow this with a wander round the 1st tee and 18th green area of the world famous Old Course and sample the atmosphere St. Andrews has to offer whilst visiting array of fine shops, boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants.

Glamis Castle

No stay in Dundee and Angus is complete without a visit to Glamis Castle, childhood home to HM Queen Mother and the legendary setting of the great Shakespeare play "Macbeth". The castle is the family home of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne and a royal residence since 1372. The castle was remodelled in the 17th Century and contains magnificent rooms with a wide range of historic pictures, porcelain and tapestries. A visit to Glamis will be a highly memorable experience as you enjoy guided tours, garden walks - with red squirrels and highland cattle on view and shopping in Glamis gift shop. You can also savour the local Angus delights in the restaurant or enjoy a coffee with shortbread in the 16th century kitchens.
