Travel Information

Car Parking

If you are travelling by car, there is parking available at the Conference Centre and most of the hotels.

Coach transfers

Thanks to Dundee City Council we have a number of free coach transfers from Edinburgh and Glasgow airports at the start and end of the conference. Bookings for travel FROM airports have now closed; delegates wishing to book onto transfers TO airports should contact the Conference Reception Desk.


Coaches from Edinburgh
The coach will depart from the Coach Park outside UK Arrival (a Travel Greyhound coach). Your chaperone will be waiting outside the terminal building, by UK Arrivals.

The estimated travel time to Dundee is 70 minutes, and the drop-off point will be at the following accommodation providers (in no particular order) : Dundee Swallow Hotel & Leisure Club, Invercarse Hotel, West Park Centre, Travelodge Dundee Central, Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa and Hilton Dundee.

Coaches from Glasgow
The coach will depart from the Short Stay Car Park on Bute Road, adjacent to International Arrivals (a Travel Greyhound coach). Your chaperone will be waiting by the coach (above).

The estimated travel time to Dundee is 90 minutes, and the drop-off point will be at the following accommodation providers (in no particular order) : Dundee Swallow Hotel & Leisure Club, Invercarse Hotel, West Park Centre, Travelodge Dundee Central, Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa and Hilton Dundee.

Glasgow Airport web site , phone: 0870 040 0008, Glasgow Airport is about 20 minutes from the city centre, and just two minutes from the nearest town, Paisley.

Public transport

Dundee Airport

Direct flights into Dundee are also possible from London City Airport (East London), Birmingham and Belfast. The airport is within a mile of the conference venue, and within 2 miles of all conference hotels. From the airport, take a taxi to your hotel.

Edinburgh
First ScotRail trains from Edinburgh Waverley and Edinburgh Haymarket stations to Aberdeen (or Dyce) stop at Dundee, additionally some GNER trains from London to Edinburgh continue to Aberdeen stopping at Dundee, as do occasional services from Birmingham/Preston/Carlisle.

From Edinburgh airport, you can get a train to Dundee by either :
- hopping on the bus into the city departing from stand 18, outside the UK arrivals hall (operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a journey time of 25 minutes). Tickets cost approx £3 for a single, £5 for a return and can be bought from the airport information desks or on the bus itself. Climb off at Edinburgh’s Main Railway station (Waverley) to board a train to Dundee (this stop is on the bus route from airport to city centre).
OR
- take a taxi from the taxi rank at Edinburgh Airport also outside the UK and Ireland arrivals hall. The average fare to the city centre/railway station is £16, and most of the taxis are wheelchair accessible.

National UK Rail Information

The penultimate station is Leuchars (about 10 mins before arrival into Dundee). Get ready at that point, so you don't miss the final part of the journey, which is quite spectacular, over the Tay bridge.

Glasgow
First ScotRail trains from Glasgow Queen Street Station to Aberdeen (or Dyce) stop at Dundee (trains from London arrive into Central Station, take the regular shuttle bus, or 10 mins walk to Queen Street).

From Glasgow airport, you can get a train to Dundee by either :
- hopping on one of two coaches, the Citylink or Fairline, climb off at Glasgow’s Queen Street Station to board a train to Dundee. Buses run every 10 – 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes in the evening (last bus 23:00 – with a journey time of approximately 30 minutes to Queen Street Station). Tickets cost around £3.30 for a single and £5.00 for a return ticket. All Citylink buses on this route are wheelchair accessible.
OR
- or take a taxi from the airport to Glasgow city centre/Queen Street Station cost approximately £18 - £20. The taxi rank is at the front of the building, a short walk from UK arrivals.

National UK Rail Information

Aberdeen
First ScotRail trains from Aberdeen city centre to either Glasgow or Edinburgh stop at Dundee.

Aberdeen airport is 7 miles from the city centre on the A96 near Dyce. You can get a train to Dundee by either :
- hopping on one of two buses that operate between the airport and the city centre; First Aberdeen +44 (0)1224 650 065 and Stagecoach Bluebird +44 (0)1224 212 266. Climb off at the city centre bus station which is opposite the mainline railway station in Guild Street, Aberdeen to board a train to Dundee. If you are arriving on a late flight, please check the details of the last available bus, especially at the weekends when they are less frequent.
OR
- a taxi: Rainbow Airport Taxis +44 (0)1224 725 500/878 787/ 494 949 operates a service from Aberdeen Airport, with booking available online. The approximate fare from the airport to the city centre is £14. Wheelchair accessible cars, a meet-and-greet service and executive cars are also available, though need to be booked in advance.

On arrival in Dundee, take a taxi from the railway (or bus) station to your hotel, this will cost £5-£10.

Train and bus services are less frequent on Sundays than other days of the week.
