ITiCSE 2007 Supporter Opportunities
ITiCSE 2007 is the 12th annual conference on Innovation & Technology in Computer Science Education. It is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group in Computer Science Education, in co-operation with SIGACCESS (ACM's Special Interest Group on Accessible Computing). The special theme is “Inclusive Education in Computer Science”, which includes accessibility of Computer Science courses for students with disabilities, widening participation in Higher Education and gender issues in Computing. This topic connects well with the strong reputation of the host, the School of Computing at the University of Dundee, in developing computer systems for users with special needs, accessibility of digital media and widening participation in higher education.
The conference will take place 25th-27th June 2007, with some events starting on Saturday 23rd June. It includes a mixture of sessions for paper presentations, panels, tutorials, working groups, and posters. There will be three receptions, an interactive theatrical performance, and three keynote speakers.

Keynote Speakers
Monday 25th June:- Dr Paul Curzon, Director of Communications for the Department of Computer Science, Queen Mary, University of London
"Studying computer science is about learning to think in a different way, a 'computational thinking' way.
It is not about learning to use technology.
Nowadays, we all have to do that.
Computer science is about inventing new and innovative applications but that are designed in a way that is accessible for all.
It is about solving real-world puzzles that affect people's lives, about being enormously creative and most of all having fun in the process."
Tuesday 26th June:- Professor Chris van der Kuyl, Chairman Tayforth Consulting Limited.
With an innovative approach to business that focuses on results rather than rules,
Chris van der Kuyl is ideally placed to advise computer science educators on what businesses need from computer science graduates.
A highly experienced Chief Executive and Non Executive Director, and one of a group of advisers to the Scottish Executive on educational matters,
Chris will draw from his own business knowledge in the technology, media and
entertainment sectors to provide an insight in to what businesses look for from graduates.
Wednesday 27th June:- Dr Vicki Hanson, IBM T.J. Watson Research Center.
Vicki Hanson is manager of IBM’s Accessibility Research Group.
Highly visible through its publications and media coverage,
the group has enjoyed considerable success in creating software to make the Web more accessible to persons with disabilities.
Its Web Accessibility Technology (WAT) software was named Product of the Year by the National Disabilities Council in 2003
and it received the Best New Ability Research Award form the New Freedom Foundation in 2004.
Vicki is the Chair of ACM's Special Interest Group on Accessible Computing, a member of the ACM SIGCHI Executive Council and
Adjunct Chair for Assistive Technologies, and a Fellow of the ACM.
