Demonstrations

Demonstrations of software used in classrooms and labs to support learning in computer science education are welcomed. Demonstrations could also be used when there is not enough time during a paper presentation to demonstrate support software fully. Please consider submitting a demonstration which fits into one of the submission categories.

Submissions must be in the form of a one page summary. Note that reviewers will assume they are reviewing completed works, as they will eventually appear in the conference proceedings. Do not submit incomplete drafts. After reviewing, accepted posters must be presented at the conference by a subset of the authors. Summaries of accepted demonstractions will be published in the conference proceedings. A condition of this publication is an author signed ACM copyright release form.

The official language of the conference is English. Submissions should use clear, ordinary grammar and avoid the use of colloquialisms that might be difficult for those who speak English as a second language.

How to prepare your demonstration summary

Demonstration summariess are limited to a maximum of 1 page and must adhere to the ITiCSE 2007 Format Instructions.

How to categorize your demonstration

Note that there are several ways you must categorize your demonstration submission.
Within the summary itself, you must provide Category and Subject Descriptors, General Terms, and Keywords. These requirements are described in more detail in the ITiCSE 2007 Format Instructions.
When you submit your demonstration summary you also must categorize it for our database. The categories you choose are used to select the reviewers who will evaluate your summary. Please be sure to choose only the one or two categories that best fit your work. Selecting too many categories increases the likelihood that your submission will be given to a reviewer who is unfamiliar with the content.

How to submit your demonstration summary

All submissions must be made electronically using the link below, which requires Netscape or Internet Explorer 3.0 or higher.

  1. Write your summary using the format specified above.
  2. Convert your summary into ADOBE PDF format. Refer to our Preparing PDF Documents page for assistance.
  3. Submit your summary using the online Submission Form. Please do not wait until the last minute to submit because that is when everyone else will be connecting to our server!
  4. Make note of the ID number and password assigned to your submission. You will receive an e-mail message confirmation.
  5. After receiving confirmation, go to the Author Verification Form to review your submission for accuracy. Contact the demonstrations coordinators (contact details below) if there are any problems.
Warning! Several authors have reported problems viewing their PDF files using Internet Explorer. If you experience similar problems, it is best to download the file and use Acrobat Reader directly.
